Where to start: starter pack and first steps
Your first hero on the account also gets 500,000 Zen to start. With this set, the first levels fly by fast, but don't spend the jewels right away: save them for upgrading your weapon when you get a decent one. For the first three days, you get wings that cannot be traded or sold; they disappear after 72 hours. By that time, you can realistically craft your own wings in the Chaos Machine if you don't waste time.
For more on jewels and upgrading, see the jewels guide and the upgrading guide. The wings themselves are described in the wings section.
How to level fast: rates, party, mentor
Base server rates: x40 EXP and x20 master EXP. From 20:00 to 23:00 Moscow time, EXP is doubled, and most events happen during this time, so the fastest leveling is in the evening. In a party of up to five players: if you're five, each gets 70% of the solo EXP. For 3, 4, or 5 different classes in the party, you get an extra +3%, +5%, or +15% EXP.
Mentor: an experienced player (level 350+, has a reset or master levels) in the same party as a newbie without resets and within 30 tiles of them. The newbie gets +50% Zen from monsters, and the mentor earns goblin points. If you haven't logged in for 7 days or more, you get +20% EXP for 24 hours, but a purchased seal replaces this bonus. All EXP bonuses together don't exceed +50%, so don't chase everything at once. Pick leveling spots in the spots section, and general tips are in the fast leveling guide.
Offline leveling
A special feature of Zenaria is offline leveling. Choose a spot where your hero can definitely handle mobs alone: if the monsters are too strong, the helper won't save you. Set up MU Helper with the skills and behavior you want, stand in a safe spot, and enter /offlevel. The client will close, but your character stays in the world and keeps fighting monsters according to the helper settings. When you log back in, leveling stops automatically. It's convenient to run overnight or while you're at work.
For more about commands and limits, read the server rules.
Stats: types and how to distribute
Stats are leveled manually or automatically. Main stats: strength (str) for damage and weapon requirements for warriors; agility (agi) for defense, attack speed, and archer damage; vitality (vit) for health; energy (ene) for mana, magic damage, and curse damage for Summoner; command (cmd) only for Dark Lord, responsible for pets and lord skills.
You can allocate points with commands: /addstr 100, /addagi 100, /addvit 100, /addene 100, /addcmd 100. To avoid clicking after every level, enable auto-distribution: /addstr auto 1000 will put the next 1000 free points into strength, /addstr auto puts all free points into strength without limit. Check the queue with /auto, turn everything off with /auto off. Messed up stats? /resetstats returns all invested points and costs 5M Zen.
Class choice affects distribution: for Dark Knight and Rage Fighter, strength is key; for Dark Wizard, energy; for Fairy Elf, agility; for Grow Lancer, strength and agility matter equally. Magic Gladiator and Dark Lord are more flexible but require balance.
Resets: how to get stronger
A reset returns your hero to level 10, resets stats to starting values, and gives free points. Each next round is stronger than the previous one. The exact numbers for your hero are shown by /resetinfo, to do a reset: /reset.
| Reset | Level | Cost | Points (Dark Lord) |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1st | from 350 | 20M Zen | 500 (600) |
| 2nd | from 360 | 40M Zen | 1,000 (1,200) |
| 3rd | from 370 | 60M Zen | 1,500 (1,800) |
| 4th | from 380 | 80M Zen | 2,000 (2,400) |
| 5th | from 390 | 100M Zen | 2,500 (3,000) |
| 6th and up | from 400 | 50M Zen × number | 500 × number (600 × number) |
Each reset gives 50 goblin points, and EXP is higher until reset 5 (+20% with no resets); after that each reset lowers it by 5%, but not below 40% (from reset 17). Seals, pets, and the mentor bonus add to EXP on top.
Master levels and further progression
After level 400, master leveling starts: up to 200 master levels. Master level EXP comes from monsters level 95+, rate x20. This is a separate long stage, but it opens access to master skills and further growth. For more on master levels, read the master level guide.
