Download Zenaria

Inside is just the program. On first launch it downloads the world on its own, about 1.3 GB, and after that updates take seconds. Server address is already configured.

One client for all worlds: Zenaria x40, Zenaria x100. You choose the world when you log in, with the same account.

Linux and Steam Deck: how to run it through Proton, step by step.

Full version in one archive No download on first launch: unpack and play, updates will come by themselves later.

  • macOS: unpack the whole archive and run Zenaria.app right from that folder. You can move it to Applications after the first launch, otherwise the data will download again.
  • Windows: inside is a Zenaria folder: unpack it anywhere and run the game from there.

Is Windows or your antivirus blocking the game from installing or updating?

  1. Close all Zenaria windows and launch the game again: usually the update goes through on the second try.
  2. Add the game folder to your antivirus exclusions (in Windows Defender: “Virus & threat protection” → “Manage settings” → “Exclusions”).
  3. Is the game installed in C:\Program Files? Move the folder, for example to C:\Games\Zenaria.

What's next

If the system complains

How to install on Mac

Open the file and drag Zenaria to the “Applications” folder. On first launch macOS may say it couldn't verify the developer: open “System Settings → Privacy & Security” and click “Open Anyway”. After that updates install automatically.

The game says “Failed to install update automatically”

Most often the antivirus is interfering. How to fix it: step by step.

How to play on Linux and Steam Deck

There's no separate Linux client yet — you play the Windows version through Proton (built into Steam). Your account, characters and updates are the same as on Windows.

Steam Deck

  1. Switch to Desktop Mode: Steam button → Power → Switch to Desktop.
  2. Download the archive with the “Linux / Steam Deck” button above and extract it whole, e.g. into "Games/Zenaria" in your home folder.
  3. Open Steam → Games → Add a Non-Steam Game to My Library → Browse, set the file type to "All files" and pick Zenaria.exe.
  4. In your library, right-click Zenaria → Properties → Compatibility → turn on "Force the use of a specific Steam Play compatibility tool" and choose the latest Proton.
  5. Press Play. The first launch takes longer (up to a couple of minutes): Proton sets itself up and the game checks for updates.
  6. Go back to Gaming Mode — Zenaria is in your library under Non-Steam games.

Any Linux distribution

  1. Install Steam from your distribution's app store.
  2. Download the archive with the “Linux / Steam Deck” button above and extract it whole.
  3. Steam → Games → Add a Non-Steam Game to My Library → pick Zenaria.exe.
  4. Properties → Compatibility → turn on Proton (latest version) and press Play.
  5. Without Steam: create a gaming environment in Lutris or Bottles and run Zenaria.exe in it; Wine 9 or newer works too.

Good to know

  • The game needs a mouse and keyboard. On Steam Deck pick the "Keyboard and Mouse" controller layout (the trackpad becomes the mouse); the on-screen keyboard is Steam + X. Plugging in a mouse and keyboard is the most comfortable.
  • You need a Vulkan-capable graphics card with an up-to-date driver (Steam Deck has everything already).
  • If the game doesn't start or shows a black screen, choose another Proton version (e.g. Proton Experimental) and try again.
  • Updates install automatically at launch, just like on Windows.
  • If something goes wrong, message us on Telegram or Discord and attach MuError.log from the game folder.
Windows says “Windows protected your PC”

That's how Windows greets programs without a paid digital signature. Click “More info”, then “Run anyway”. This window won't show again.
